TempAlarm™ - A New Remote Monitoring Alarm

04-29-2009

Minneapolis, Minnesota – April 29, 2009 Control Products, Inc., a trusted leader in electronic control technology and global manufacturing, is pleased to introduce the TempAlarm™ TA-900 Remote Monitoring Alarm.  This product is based on the popular FreezeAlarm™ platform.  Unlike the FreezeAlarm™, which is focused on freeze protection applications, the TempAlarm™ is designed for remote monitoring of both low and high temperature applications as well as monitoring for power outages.

The TempAlarm™ offers protection against temperature extremes or power loss and is perfect for monitoring of cold storage refrigerators and freezers, computer rooms, greenhouses, material storage areas, animal confinement buildings, fruit growing orchards and vineyards and any location where a loss of power may cause additional problems.

During alarm conditions, the TempAlarm™ will dial three telephone numbers and provide a clear voice message indicating a high or low temperature alarm, power outage alarm or low back-up battery alarm.  In addition, the new TempAlarm™ has an auxiliary alarm input to connect any type of sensor that will either open or close a dry contact.  This gives the TempAlarm™ flexibility to monitor equipment failures, water sensors, motion sensors, door sensors, a second temperature sensor or any sensor that closes or opens a dry contact.  Upon alarm, the TempAlarm™ will dial all three phone numbers and play a user recorded alarm message specific to whatever sensor or equipment is triggering the alarm condition.

Although the TempAlarm™ calls to alert the user of problems, there are times when the user needs to hear or see an alarm indication near the monitored location.  The new TempAlarm™ has an on board audible alarm and an alarm output relay that opens or closes upon an alarm condition automatically.  This alarm relay can be used to turn on a loud remote siren, turn on a flashing alarm light or trigger a building management system or security alarm.  Some applications may include automatically turning on an auxiliary air conditioning unit, heating unit or even a generator.

According to Chuck Guerin, National Sales Manager of Control Products, “We realized the need to provide an alarm that had more commercial features for applications other than homes and cabins.  The TempAlarm™ brings our extensive knowledge of alarm dialers into a commercial product for many different applications.”
