Control Products, Inc. is a privately held corporation that was founded in 1985. It specializes in electronic control technology, embedded and wireless communications, design and manufacturing. The company is comprised of three divisions: Custom OEM Controls, Consumer Products and Trade Products.

The OEM division is CPI's most technologically advanced division. In addition to offering many unique sensing technologies for measuring/controlling temperature, humidity, motion, proximity, flow, liquid level, strain and condensation, we are a leader in low cost embedded communications. IntelliNet, developed by Control Products encompasses both internet, wired, cellular and wireless platforms for the remote monitoring and reporting of data. Through an equity position with Global Tier, an e-commerce software development firm, Control Products offers complete turn key custom solutions for monitoring, controlling and collection of data remotely. Applications include monitoring of data from equipment, remote buildings or linking existing systems.

Although the OEM division is CPI's primary focus, control products also offers over 100 commercial controls. We provide contractors with general purpose controls in the most convenient and cost effective way. Continual investment in upgrades to our e-commerce website allow contractors to download product information and order products at their convenience.

CPI also has a Consumer Products division, which develops and produces devices to protect unoccupied second homes or cabins from damage due to frozen water pipes or intruders.

Our engineering department specializes in both digital and analog control design. We use commonly use microprocessors from Motorola, Microchip, Atmel, and Intel. Other technology groups include design test engineering, quality analysis and production process.

We have sales branches in Philadelphia, Chicago, Miami, Minneapolis, Seattle, Portland, Denver, Los Angeles and also conduct business internationally. Primary OEM markets are food service equipment, medical and HVAC while commercial distribution primarily consists of HVAC and industrial markets. Business unit products are sold at national home centers through our consumer division.

In addition to the technological and commercial success CPI enjoys, the company is committed to keeping jobs in the community. Ninety-nine percent of manufacturing jobs are in Minnesota, including at a newly refurbished plant in Le Sueur. Despite depending on local labor, CPI's prices remain competitive because transportation costs are minimal.

Our 1996 Chanhassen facility includes state-of-art equipment for SMT, auto-insertion, automated conformal coating, in-circuit testing and equipment lab testing. The headquarters sits on fourteen acres, and the rumor is true, we enjoy an employee-built three hole golf course. The signature hole is 160 yards over a pond.
